Foyer Design Project
This Foyer design project involved creating a separate ‘drawing room’ off the foyer, new flooring, stairs, balusters, railing, color palette including decorative finishes and custom stains.
Foyer Before at Dusk
Late Afternoon. The color palette looks quite different during the day.
Beaux-Arts Classic Products Louis XIV wall panels will remain but not the stenciled centers.
Project Begins – Wall and entrance into the drawing room.
Foyer Panels being primed.
Final Wall and Panel Finish.
Walls, ceiling, trim and ornamentation Base Benjamin Moore Cream Froth with a Raw Umber Glaze. The cream froth is a beautiful warm base for the natural aging of the raw umber.
Inside the panels Benjamin Moore Iceberg with the same raw umber glaze. We are designing ornamentation for these panels which will be in the same finish as the Louis XIV wall panels.
The drawing room floor, landings and stairs are all white maple. For the custom stain we used Aqua Stain & Seal in Pickling White and Honey Pine. The railings are maple so we tweaked the stain to match it to the floors.
The handsome cast iron panels are from C.O. Iron Works Ltd. prices start at $28.00 each depending on the length, plus powder coating and shipping from Canada. We chose the statuatory bronze finish.
Finished pedestal. Lambs tongue trim from White River.
