Classic Powder Rooms, Bathrooms and Spas
Other than the kitchen, the bathroom is one of, if not the, most often used rooms in the house. I am super excited about this post. It is filled with amazing inspiration and resources to help you create a ‘classic’ space you’ll love stepping into every morning, and at the end of each day.
Nothing is more classic and timeless than marble for the bath. A top trend for 2020 is white and gray marble. Classical elements such as wall panels and built in traditional vanity door panels set a classic style.
White and gray marble has been a bathroom favorite and will continue to be a highly popular material for bathrooms and kitchens alike. It has a timeless feel and it pairs well with modern to traditional design styles, and has great resale value.
Like the limited use of the marble in this handsome large master bath.
White Marble Wall Panels

Very small bath with white marble around the soaking tub and vanity top. Feels cozy, traditional and probably staged for the photo but the framed picture on the tub feels unnecessary and cluttered.
Lots going on in this elegant bath in the Hotel du Duc de Gevres. Beautiful marble walls and an amazing ceiling. If bathing is important a fantastic ceiling would be a great addition.
A classical Mirror may be all that is needed to establish classical style.
One of my favorite powder rooms. Marble walls, statement mirror, elegant lighting and a fine marquetry chest for the vanity.

Best Bathroom Lighting Ideas
Lighting can make any room more beautiful and bathroom lighting is for the most part boring and unattractive. There have been very few innovations in great lighting for bathrooms. Bathroom lighting should feel natural and complimentary; provide a warm glow that is not harsh and that compliments a classical theme and decor.
Sconces on either side of the mirror with shades and crystal accents are lovely in this master bath. Candelabra sconces are another classical lighting choice and look great in this bath for the makeup vanity.
Good vanity lighting is very important for illuminating the different tasks you do in the bathroom, like brushing your teeth or putting on makeup.
LED recessed lighting is a great choice. It is your most energy-efficient choice. LEDs are dimmable for easy ambiance creation but also provide excellent illumination. If you hate changing light bulbs this is definitely a good choice for you. LED lighting is rated to last 40,000 hours.
Beaux-Arts Classic Products has a perfect choice with their decorative options for LED lights. They transform LED’s into a beautiful classic choice for bathroom lighting.
They offer many styles of ‘recessed chandeliers‘ which work with all the different LED’s. LED retrofits can be used in traditional recessed lighting fixtures that use canisters, or LED ceiling downlights can be installed in a traditional junction box. LED Ultra Thin Wafers can be installed where other lighting will not work because of space limitations.
The Crystal Options offered for the Recessed Chandeliers make it possible to coordinate the recessed chandelier crystals with a Statement chandelier.
They also can be used in wet locations like your shower.
If your bathroom has a place for a Statement Chandelier start with selecting that and then choose vanity lighting, sconces and additional recessed lighting that are needed. Bathrooms with a focal point soaking tub are a wonderful place for adding a Statement Chandelier.
Great architecture and simple elegance are perfect for this statement chandelier.
