Since there are so many variables in setting forth essentials to consider in designing a home office, my approach will be broad in scope but specific in the details of creating a classic design.

Weill planned classical home office. The desk and storage is traditional and the finish works well with the monochromatic color palette. The lighting, seating and rug is a mix of traditional and modern. Lots of style and functionality.
Traditional and Contemporary furnishings with attention to built-ins, ceiling and floor manage a more timeless design style.
Wall Plan – Wall elevations will organize your thoughts on creating classic style walls. Is your desk positioned with natural light with a window and a view or integrated with one wall being used for storage. What are you looking at when you are sitting at your desk. Does your office have two focal point walls?
Walls Panels are a great way to add symmetry and balance particularly in a small space.

Wood interiors are very traditional and classical for home offices.
Wall Color Palette – Coordinate with furnishings; desk wood, painted finishes, metal surfaces, storage. Most projects have certain ‘givens’. Those can be helpful in focusing on choices. If you are working with a blank slate it is fun to consider what inspires and pleases you. A light or dark color palette, artwork or decorative art,
Beautiful color for all walls and storage.
Very chic – fireplace focal point wall with handsome built-ins and panels. Desk is perfect with the walls. Functional, great task lighting, no visible cords for desk, lighting on art and shelves. Lots of natural light.
A Home Office designed to reflect your personality is just one of the advantages to working from home. You get to decide how your space should look and feel. My home office is where I spend most of my time. I recently completed refinishing the stairs to my office which is over our garage.
The stairs were natural oak. Refinished in Hazelwood Oil Stain. Painted the risers white and stenciled Royal Design Studios Havana Tile Pattern on repositionable wallpaper. Made it a lot easier than doing it on the risers themselves.
Attractive solution to protect my office wood floors from wear where the office chairs are.
Ruggable washable carpets. They are thin so my desk chair is easy to move and I love the look.
Fill your office with the details that inspire you and make your home base work for you.
